As a Financial Planner, Alex is often asked “what do you do?”. The longer he advises his clients, the more he comes to realize the answer to this question—he helps people save money. There is no shortcut, easy road, or magic wand for a comfortable retirement. The truth is, it takes sacrifice and determination to steadily save for months, years, and decades. Albert Einstein famously said, “Compound interest is the eighth wonder of the world. He who understands it earns it…he who doesn’t pays it.”
He encourages his clients to strengthen their behavior to save each year to meet their retirement needs through a goals-based approach, while prudently investing to their own personal risk score.
Alex has provided advice to professionals in various fields—CPA’s, engineers, electricians, plumbers, medical residents, fellows, physicians, heating/cooling techs, veterinarians, dentists, small business owners, etc. A common question he often encounters is paying down debt. Should you focus on saving, or should you pay down the debt? Alex can help to answer that intimidating question.
Another growing part of his practice includes employees of tax-exempt employers. RWS Financial Group offers investment management solutions for 403(b), 401(a), and 457 investors. If you work for the University of Michigan, Michigan State University, Wayne State, Beaumont Health, Trinity Health Systems, Ascension, etc. he can help!
For fun, Alex loves spending time with his wife Cassy and his son Isaiah. They are very excitedly expecting a daughter in December 2018. Any outdoor activity with them brings a smile to his face!
